Darkest Sedge
A circle of interconnectedness with sedge being the cord that reaches through time and place, transporting me into landscapes past and present.
Pendulous Sedge, Carex Pendula, is a major component of the fabric of peat on the Somerset Levels, its decomposed fragments create living ecological and historical archives of memories past.
I interrogate Sedge referencing the dark peat that is found in Somerset and connecting with the decomposed nature of the earth that reaches through time and place.
