Contemplating the Circular

Stitching the circular enabled an easing of an addled mind and sparked thoughts about past and contemporary circularity, the act of sewing deepened my thinking and enabled time for reflection and contemplation.

The work was inspired by Vicuna’s Menstrual Quipu, I stitched blood vessels into circles to suggest menstruation, ritual, and the unknown roles of prehistoric female.  The work is functions as a medium for expressing and connecting with inner thoughts and voice.
